Storytime will be a fun, exploration of native wildflowers of the Tri-Cities with author and educator, Ashley Erdely. Expect hands-on fun for all. Her new book Wildflowers of the Pacific Northwest for Kids will be available for purchase. Free prizes and fun for all.

Join local author Ashley Erdely and mixed media collage artist Jordan Kim for a playful, hands-on class exploring wildflowers through science, art, and imagination. Kids will learn the parts of a wildflower and its relationship with native pollinators, examine real flowers up close with hand lenses, and sketch the surprising patterns they discover. Inspired by Ashley’s book, Wildflowers of the Pacific Northwest for Kids, students will invent their own imaginary wildflower, then bring it to life using drawing, collage, and creative writing. This class is perfect for curious kids who love nature, creative writing, storytelling, and making art. No experience needed—just a sense of wonder!

Join me for day 2 of the 45th Wild Arts Festival, presented by the Backyard Bird Shop and Sauvie Island Natives . At this 2-day event, fellow field guide author, Tom Meyers, and I will join other artists and authors whose work reflects the beauty and interconnectedness of the natural world.

I’ll be there signing books from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm!

Day two of the Poulsbo Kids’ Book Festival will bring the experience to the whole community! Children and parents will have the opportunity to meet me, along with other authors and illustrators, get their books signed, and participate in fun activities inspired by the books we have lovingly created for kids.

I’m excited to participate in the 2nd annual Poulsbo Kids’ Book Festival!

On the first day of this event, authors and illustrators will visit schools throughout the Poulsbo area. For every Title I school visited, each child present will receive a free book!

Naturalists of all ages are invited to come enjoy hands-on learning activities and a kid-friendly presentation about how to enjoy the treasures that bloom all around us.

This event is hosted by Waucoma Bookstore and the Hood River Library and will take place in the upstairs reading room of the library.

The Columbia Gorge Discovery Center is partnering with the Migrant Education Program in The Dalles to host a Field Day at Horse Thief Campground and Day Use Area, and I’m excited to be a part of it. *This event is not open to the public.
